Brief Description:  Cap strip cutting

So when I made my first order for the wings, I elected to go with a sheet of 0.0125 aluminium to use for the attach fittings.
I planned to get a local shop to shear the sheet into strips for me.

I should have called around first, as there is no shop within 100 miles of me that has a guillotine long enough for 14 foot strips. Hmm.

Brendon came around and we spent a few hours working on setting up an MDF fence and using my router to cut strips. The edges had some chatter marks in them from my slightly tired router bit. Also the bit is not designed for aluminium, but I was able to use the table saw with a sanding disk mounted to it to sand out the marks, then polish on the deburr wheel. A very nice result that I am happy with.

This is what happens when you let your fence get a little loose and the router slips under it.
