Brief Description:  Elevator gap seals

Moving along in installing all the gap seals, the degree of difficulty is increasing. For the two pairs that go along the leading edges of the elevators you first have to do some minor modifications of the supplied aluminum sheet pieces. I tried my best to figure out if the diagrams on page 6 of 15 of the manual were clearly wrong, slightly wrong or just mis-labelled. That got too confusing so went back to basics by figuring out what the purpose of the cuts were and then laid the pieces in place and marked them up for cutting without refering to the manual. That worked for me... but cutting supplied parts without following the manual is nerve wracking. After the fact I am sure that the manual is wrong and that by 'right' elevator they mean 'pilot' or 'port' and for 'left' elevator they mean 'co-pilot' or 'starboard'. They only make sense if they are looking backwards down the plane, and who does that?
Anyway theses modifications are required to give clearance to the elevator hinge bolts as I soon found out when I wanted to remove the bolts.
These incorrect manual instructions, or at least confusing ones, were a good lesson for going forward...
