It has been an eventful year in my life, with no progress on the plane. Having taken a 3-year contract with a pulp & paper company Elayne and I first spent 3 months in Vienna, Austria, then 3 months in Syktyvkar, Russia before settling in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia for the duration. In that time we had one brief trip back to my home town of Powell River to get married on my brother's yacht in Okeover Arm, near Lund, BC.
During my absence Vicki, who runs the Mackenzie Airport fuel concession and a hundred other daily tasks, was good enough to check in on my hangar and forward my mail.
On this day we just cleaned out the hangar, sweeping away cobwebs, dust and mouse droppings and then squirted some preservative into the Rotax engine cylinders and manually turned it over for a few revs.
