Noticed broken welds on the lumbar support on the seat but rode anyway.
Kicked up the speed to 10.4 mph and made it 3.5 miles before the weakness appeared. Started draging the rear tire, the load shifted the position of the axel. Called Anne for a rescue pickup.
Took the seat apart and can see now that tack welds are not enough here.
