2" up from bottom and 3 1/2" up from bottom draw cut lines on bluing. The objrct is to remove 1 1/2" from the length. Cut between the lines, leaving the line for finish. Grind the main tubes to the line and finish the short pieces in the lathe.
Clamp vee block to main tube and short piece to vee block. Tack weld two welds, reposition the vee block so one of the tacks is in the bottom of the vee, clamp everything, make a third tack weld.
