Brief Description:  Pilot drill Wing Spar Cap Angles

In the next eight pictures I hope to demonstrate the process and methods used to ensure everything lines up where it is supposed to.

1st. Make sure every thing is ready to assemble, I kept every thing on the wing spar together so I would not lose its orientation since its last drilling.

2nd. Keep orientation of lower spar cap and lower spar cap angle, and let it hang over the edge of the table. Line up the outboard ends and give yourself a quick visual alignment for the 5.5mm dimension.

3rd. Clamp the two parts down to the table with 4 spring clamps, one on each end and two in the middle near the first hole. Check the 5.5mm edge distance and adjust part locations.

4th. Use the 1/4 spar cap as a drill guide. Place drill bit down into the hole first before starting the motor. Drill pilot hole and silver cleco right to the table.

5th. Move over 8 holes and repeat 3rd and 4th steps.
