Measure all pistons at the skirt and find largest and smallest piston. Using only those two pistons, check largest one with two, 3, then 4 shims to find the largest and smallest cylinder. Repeat with smallest piston. With the smallest piston and the largest cylinder the clearance was .009" Going to 2850cc
These pictures demonstrate how I checked the clearance. Using 0.0015 x .5" x 12" shim stock, place two shims for .003",
Piston travels entire bore.
With 4 shims .0045" the piston is tight at the bottom of the bore but will slide freely at the top of the bore.
