Brief Description: Trimming Rudder Stiffeners, Fitting Stiffeners to
Once marked I used a bandsaw to separate the stiffeners from each other, marked them, and then used the bandsaw to remove the required areas from the stiffeners. Once the stiffeners were roughly cut I used the scotchbrite wheel to clean up the edges and get them right down to the lines.
I clecoed the stiffeners to the rudder skin and then drilled all the holes to #40. The holes near the bend were difficult to drill but I managed to do it without messing them up! I marked all the stiffener positions and then disassembled everything. I then peeled all the plastic off the inside of the rudder skin and sanded a small scratch with 500 grit sandpaper.
