I continued working on sealing the tanks today. I masked off all the areas where the ribs will go and then scuffed and cleaned those areas with MEK. I mixed up sealant and used a syringe to put a bead on a rib and then 100% clecoed the rib to the tank skin. I managed to get 4 of those done before it got too late. I plan to do the next three tomorrow and then let the tank sit for 24 hours before starting to rivet. This way I'm not riveting in 100% wet sealant. This idea came from a guy on Vansairforce.net that used to work with sealant building C-17s so I figure it's probably a good technique. He has also built 4 leak free tanks this way.
