Brief Description:  Preparing the Main Spar

Today I countersunk all of the holes for the screws to attach the fuel tanks. I started by countersinking the holes to the point the screw head was flush and then increased the countersink depth by .007 to accout for the skin dimple as called out in section 5 of the manual.

I then began the process of attaching the K1000-06 platenuts for the W-822PP wing cover plates. First I match drilled the holes for the screws in the cover plates and the wing spar to #28. I then deburred and dimpled the cover plates. I moved on to drilling the platenut attach holes to #40 and then countersunk the whole with the #40 countersink. I clecoed on the platenuts and that was all for tonight.

In the process of figuring out where the W-822PP wing cover plates went I realized that my wing spars had been labeled backwards from the factory. The right one was labeled left and the left one right. I wasn't sure I was seeing things correctly but spent quite a bit of time looking at the plans and determined that they are indeed labeled backwards. I fixed all my markings to reflect this.
