Brief Description:  Priming

Today I tackled priming using Sherwin Williams P60G2. I used a Harbor Freight spray gun with cups from the 3M PPS spray system. The made it so I didn’t have to worry about gun orientation while spraying.

I scrubbed the insides of all the skins with a maroon scotchbrite pad, wiped them clean with acetone, remarked them and then did the same with all of the parts. I then took all of the smaller parts and laid them out on my chicken wire table and sprayed them with primer. After about 5 minutes I turned them and sprayed the other side. The primer came out really well! I then did the same with the larger parts like the spars and doublers.

The skins were a little more challenging. I only primered the insides of the skins. It was a little challenging getting the gun in the skins without hitting the other side. All in all the priming came out good and even. I’m happy with it.
