I applied glazing putty to the lower cowl and the boot cowl. I also cut the access hole for the top cowl oil access door. I drilled the mounting plate, hinges and door to the cowl. The plans call for mounting the door with pop rivets after everything is painted. This assembly begs for solid countersunk rivets. I have all the necessary hardware on hand to make this minor modification. However, the hinges provided in the kit don't have removable pins. Consequenty, it's a bit of a puzzle how the remove the assembly for painting without having unpainted rivets. I need to give this some more thought before I proceed much further.
