Brief Description: Work on the seat cushions

I completed the seat cushions the past few weeks. With the holidays and all I haven't been working very hard. The seat came out OK, not as good as I hoped, but when I installed it and actually sat on the cushions, it was pretty nice. It did, however, highlight a problem with the flip-forward canopy that I think is a deal-breaker. Since the seat is a made from 2" foam, when I sat in the seat I was farther forward than I was without the cushion, so now the hinge points for the canopy will dig into my (and the passengers) arms. I really don't like that. And I've already shortened the arms as much as possible, so I think I'm gonna have to flush that whole design.
Also, I received additional information concerning the flip back design that I hadn't heard or thought of before: I could mount the pivots arms for the flip-back canopy down below the seat so that when closed the arms would not take up any cockpit width at the pilot/passengers shoulders. What a great idea.
Another thing I didn't like about my flip-forward design was opening the canopy from the outside and I think the flip-back design will be much better for that. Anyway, I'm gonna build the flip-back design and see if I like that - if not, I can always go back to the original open-to-the-side design.
