Decided to stop working on the canopy for awhile – let everything set for awhile and think about what I want to do.
Spent the majority of my time the past couple of weeks finishing up the wiring on the panel. I’m not sure if I like the way I wired this either. The way I have it wired, if something goes wrong with the wiring, I’m pretty sure the engine will keep running (will confirm), although the starter won’t work. I think I may separate everything so that the engine will run and the starter will work no matter what happens to the rest of the wiring. Still pondering this, and if I need to change it it’s pretty easy. I did finish with as much of the wiring as I can until I buy the EFIS, Transceiver and ELT. Transponder to follow that.
I also started thinking about the upholstery. I laid out a design for the seat and got the wife’s approval, so it must not be too bad. Now would be a good time to work on the upholstery since it’s nice and warn by the sewing machine and Wisconsin-winter cold out in the garage.
