Spend most of the day today working on the canopy parts. Ending up re-designing the brackets that mount to the canopy sides. See Image 1. My original idea was this bracket was going to be screwed to the top of the 1/2" x 1/2" canopy sides, I changed my mind and now this bracket will attach to the side of the canopy side. This will require less material being removed from the locking forks bar.
Image 2 shows the two brackets that will be attached to the side of the fuselage. The 1" x 1" angle gets riveted the a vertical member and the larger bracket gets fastened in place with the two screws that are used to hold the phenolic in place in the longeron and also riveted to the angle.
The canopy arms go between the brackets on the longeron and canopy. They are different lengths so in the up position the rear of the canopy will be raised higher than the front of the canopy for additional room to enter the plane.
It's funny how the lighting for Image three makes it look like the aluminum changes to copper from one end to the other.
