Brief Description:  Windshield installation part 2

Today, I finished the installation of the windshield. (I had to wait until my order of nutplates arrived from Wicks). Like I explained in my last post, I fabricated some 1" aluminum strips where I installed nutplates so the windshield would be 'sandwiched' between the fuse side and the nutplate strip when the screws were installed.
First of all, I think this makes for a stronger installation and probably reduces the chance of cracking the windshield with the compression force spread out so much more. Plus it sure makes it easier to install or remove if I ever need to. Lastly, I don't think it looks too bad, it might even be an improvement over seeing the lock nuts that normally are there.

The only hard part is that the nutplates are 'locking' so they are hard to get the screws into, especially the first time. Some of the screws were pretty ragged when I finally got them in and tight. - so I'll probably replace them.

Now back to wiring the panel.
