Brief Description:  Panel layout

Tonight I laid out my panel in Microsoft Visio and then marked and drilled it. My panel is going to have the Stratomaster Enigma EIS, MGL V10 radio, round transponder (not sure which one yet) 3 round circuit breakers, 2 round EIS warning lights, Starter keyswitch, ELT remote, 8 LEDs for open breaker and trim position indication, and 6 rocker switches. The circuit breakers, LEDs, warning lights, and starter keyswitch are all round so they were easy to drill. The rocker switches and ELT remote are rectangular, so these I had to cut out using my Dremel tool.

Image one shows the panel all cut out, except for the transceiver and transponder. For the Enigma, I left about 3/8" of aluminum around the where the whole is to be so I could bend this down to make the panel more rigid. Seemed to work well, seems pretty stiff.

Have to wait a few weeks so I can save up a few $ to start buying the electrical components I'll need. In the mean time I can work on a trim position system for the Aerovee Dial a trim.
