Brief Description:  Aft fuselage

Spent the last two nights assembling the lower part of the aft fuselage. It took a little bit to figure out how this went together, but not too bad. Sure is nice to be building stuff again instead of painting/sanding or polishing.

Took all the fiberglass parts (except the cowl) to the paint shop. Should have them back in a couple of days

Still pondering on the total paint scheme. So far, I've planned on polished aluminum (or painted as close to polished aluminum as possible) for the entire plane, except for the cowl and the victory stripes. Right now, my plan is to pattern the paint scheme somewhat after the P-47D-25s of the 8th Air Force around the 1944 time frame and paint the cowl white and black checker board. Of course, I'll probably change my mind a few dozen times before I get that far.

One thought was to paint a silver gnome on the cowl, and call the plane the "Chrome Gnome". Seeing how I don't have much hair left, I might take offense to "Chrome Dome"
