Today I completed (with the exception of additional hardware I need to order) the elevator push rod and ELT enclosure. The elevator pushrod goes right though the middle of the baggage area and has three nuts and bolts that could get caught on stuff so I thought it would be best to enclose the pushrod through the baggage area. So I made two sides that are riveted to the bottom and fore and aft to the braces. See image 1. In image 2, the top of the enclosure is installed and this is where the ELT will be mounted. Image 3 shows the ELT cover installed. I like these enclosures for two reason; first, it protects the elevator push rod and the ELT and second, it separates the baggage area into two halves so I have two approximately 2’ by 2’ areas so things can’t move around much. Plus, if I need a bigger area, the enclosure doesn’t go all the way to the top of the baggage area.
Today I also glued the wing seal to the wings - pretty straight forward. I also installed the horizontal tail tips. The tails looks much better.
