Spent a hot, sweaty day today installing the baffle kit rubber. I had the aluminum parts all cut out and fitted a few weeks ago and I’m just getting back to installing the rubber seal. This was a pretty tedious job as the cowling has to come on and off a lot and now with the rubber seal installed, it goes on harder. I took a few pictures of the engine with the baffle installed (See image 1 and 2). Now with the baffle kit installed the cowl tends to be even lower to the engine than it was before. Now the cowl rests on the bolt head of one of the bolts that hold the cover plate on the fore-center part of the engine – and the prop hub is not centered in the hole in the cowl. It never was centered very well, but now it’s even worse. I’m hoping that when I run the engine and everything gets good and hot I can flex the cowl up to be where it should be. We’ll have to see.
