Today I worked on the point where the landing gear fairing and the wheel pants meet. At that point I installed the same rubber "U" that I plan to put around the wings where they meet the fuselage. I glues this rubber on and reinstalled them and they seem to look/work pretty well. See images 1 and 2. I'm hoping that this rubber will protect the wheel pant when everything moves around when landing and taxiing.
I also added this same rubber "U" to the top of the fairing where it meets the fuse - see image 3. It didn't seem to fit as well at this point.
To better seal around the canopy, I glued a 1" wide by 1/8" thick piece of rubber all along the longerons like I talked about a few days ago. So far, I really like it - the only question is will the glue last?
In between this work I also worked on the cowling some more. I think one more good coat of primer and it'll be ready for paint. But now that it's close I'll finish installed the baffle kit before I lose some of the parts. The kit has been laying on my work bench for a couple of weeks now.
