Brief Description:  Started skinning the right wing.

Began to drill and de-burr the right wing, starting with the bottom left aft skin. It seems like the plans instruct the builder to skin the wing and then install the flap and aileron linkages - which does seem smart, so I'm going get the top and bottom aft skins ready to install but then install the linkages before I rivet them into place. It just seems much easier.

I also plan to 'indent' the bottom aft skins so both the access cover and the Pitot assembly do not extend down into the airflow (although a single thickness of aluminum isn't much). I think 'indenting' these skins will also make them just a little stiffer. I'm going to fabricate up some shape blocks out of wood to make these indents.

Won't be able to install the leading edge skins until next weekend as I screwed up and didn't order the shielded, 2-conductor 18 AWG cable that goes to the Skybright Strobe/Position/Navigation lights I just bought. I thought I could just go to a local store and get what I needed - tried all the local hardware stores (like Lowes) and even Radio Shack with no luck. I'll have to order these cables on Monday so I won't see them for a few days - and pay shipping again D'OH.

One last thing I'll need before I can finish the wings is another W20-01L,'Left Hand Root Doubler with Wing Walk'. Since I plan to make the canopy open up to allow entry from both sides I'll need the Wing Walk portion on both wings, so I'm planning on picking up another W20-01L and simply installing it upside down on the right wing, instead of the W20-01R. At least I think it will work.
