Brief Description:  Fiberglass work on Canopy

A funny thing happened today.. Well not so funny. I was out on my usuall Saturday morning drive and stopped in at Harford Muni Airport which I like to do since you never know what your going to run into. Well to much surprize an RV6A was getting ready to leave after a fuel stop, so I drove right up to her (Yes her) and jumped out. Seems she forgot her credit card at the pump and had to run back. I asked if I could take a look at her RV and of course she said yes. I didn't get her name or tail mumber but she did say she was from Waukesha. Her husband was in another airplane and was taxing as we spoke (Non RV). I took a quick look at the canopy, she even slide it forward so I could look at the rear skirts. Not the best workmanship put it was functional. There where gaps at the same place as most. She did say that until her husband sealed it they had much cold air on the neck. Anywho, I thought, hmmm Mine is better than that and I'm not happy with it. So I went home and put the aluminum skirts on (Oh, Howard Keeney stopped by to look at my progress since he is building a RV9A and wanted to see the dilemma I was facing. He's a few months away from this section) looked at it again and said, NOPE, gotta fiberglass it. So I pushed forward and tapped it all off and layed up the strips.
