Cut the sticks so they just miss the bottom of the panel even though the defetion wont be that far. This length is just about right for me. When I sit in the seat I can rest my arm on my leg and still feel comfortable with the grip in my hand. Everyone will be different, I have bigger legs so having the stick this high works for me. I also ran the Control wires out the bottom of the tube as did most other builders.
