There was a question on Vansairforce.net about the distance from the back of the D100 to the Top rib. I posted this picture with a grafic of the distance from the cutout to the mount hole and that I still had about 1/2" clearance in the rear of the D100. You should be able to move this cutout up another 1" or so before hitting the rib.
