Richard C joined me for some Coffee and Donuts at the Eaa Chapter (1158). We spent a couple hours hanger flying with the other members then it was back to the garage for some afternoon work. We spent most of the time on the sub panel. The radio rack need additional room to pass the wires through from the PMA6000 Intercom to the SL30 and SL40. The PMA6000 is a little too close to the sub panel and we were worried about the bend the cables would have to make, After much engineering talk we decided to cut at 2 1/2" X 3/4" rectangular pass through in the Sub panel. This will allow the cable to After that was done (See 1/23/06 for the picture of the pass through) we cut up some 3/4" X 3/4" angle to make the stiffners for the panel. The angles will run verticle on both sides of the Radios and then underneath the panel Horizontally across the bottom. This will stiffen up the the Sub panel and also support the Throttle Quad towards the front. Today was a good day, thanks Dick.
