After yesterdays debacle, I trimmed up some scrap to make a three ply sandwich to mimic the joining of VS-705, VS-702, and VS704. Since I have no 5/32 clecos, I used cleco clamps to hold the pieces together while I drilled a 5/32 hole through them. I ended up doing ten rivets, with a definite improvement from start to finish. The scrap I used turned out to be thinner than the actual parts, and the rivets had a tendency to lean because of it, which is normal. I'm both amazed and disappointed how much time and effort I have expended on one freaking rivet, and I'm not done with said rivet yet.
