Brief Description:

Today was Nebraska Cornhusker football home game, but still made good progress. Kickoff at 1100, and no tailgaiting, since I did all work after the game.

Used wood burner to selectively peel off plastic skin protectant. Still time consuming, but I'm better at it now. After that it was deburring and dimpling. Skins were again done by hand due to thinness.
Hard to get sexy photos of deburring and dimpling.

During dimpling today, I rediscovered a bone I have to pick with Van's. Rib R-903 comes with the aft six holes pre-dimpled from the factory. This is great because this rib narrows to 5/16ths at the aft tip. My beef is why not do the same for the bottom rib R-904? The aft three holes are too narrow for my dimple set.

I find it very helpful to make notes on my parts to remind me of what I have already done and when. I have been hot and heavy to rivet the rudder skeleton, so I doused that with a note on the rib.
