Brief Description:  Cooling Shrouds

Now that I have the cooling shrouds inlet the shape that I want I had to extend them to get the baffling to fit up to the cowl inlet. Fiberglassed the inlets then trimed to size. Marked where the baffling needed to go and epoxied them in place. Located the coil blast tubes then cut bent and epoxied tubes in place. Installed shrouds and installed cowling. Ran the engine for about 30 min which included 4 full power runs. My goal was to be able to idle for an extended time without the CHT exceding 300 deg. I acomplished that goal. Max temp on two cylinders at max power was 318 and returned to below 300 at idle. OAT was 62 degrees. I was able to attain 2540 RPM on the static run up and I'm looking for 2850 at take off speed so the prop is at least close. The engine ran rich after the first full power run up. FF showed 4.4 GPH I added and reduced power a couple of times an it returned to normal of about 1.1 GPH. Problem did not return but I think it's a needle and seat problem.
