I have decided to go with the Jabiru 3300 powerplant. I plan on using the 3300L which derates the thrust by limiting MCT to 2850 RPM. It will produce about 110 HP at that RPM. I plan on pitching the prop for 2600 to 2700 static. Cruise at 2400- 2500 which is a little faster than I would like but probably where I need it to be to keep it Light Sport. I figure that with fluids the Jabiru is about 13 lbs more than the Rotax but I will probably need to leave the wheel pants off so the weight difference may be less.
