Brief Description:  Flight 21

Went up to test the nav radio in the air and all is well. Very bumpy and strong winds today. I climbed to 2500 feet and it was nice there. I set my home base as the active waypoint on the garmin then selected an RMI needle for it on the Dynon and set the HSI to the vor. Checked the autopilot in nav mode using the VOR while the RMI needle displayed my bearing and distance to home, pretty neat stuff. Then I kicked off the autopilot and just flew around a bit. Checked out a few fishing spots and then went home. The gusty winds made the landing more interesting than I care but it all turned out ok. The extra tension on the nose wheel keeps it centered on landing and it is a lot easier to push the plane backwards without the nose wheel trying to rip the towbar out of your hand when you make a turn, but it does make the taxi just a litter harder and more brakes are required.
