Brief Description: Hand Squeeze Fuselage Nut Plates / Starboard
Got out to the hanger about noon today. Spent some time cleco’ing the rest of the skin attachment nut plates to the fuselage frame. Completed the Starboard nut plate riveting via hand squeezing AN426-3-3 solid aluminum rivets. Image #1 shows Starboard nut plates cleco'd to the fuselage frame. Image #2 shows the completed riveted nut plates to the Starboard side of the fuselage and Image #3 shows the Starboard skin rough attached to the fuselage using periodic 10-32 truss head machine screws.
After completing the Starboard side skin nut plate attachment and rough fitting the skin to the fuselage and nut plates it was determined that the 10-32 .500 A4972-8-02 floating nut clips have too much swivel/swing play to be used on the upper skin attachment tabs, 10-32 .250 A4972-4-73 or equivalent attachment needs to be used.
