Tried spreading the roll bar with a 2x4 and a wedge. It spreads to the required size but springs back.
Talked to Ken at Vans and he suggest I use a hydraulic jack to spread the assy. I'll try this next.
Drilled the two holes on the F-1284 Shear clips. It was impossible to hit the exact center. Consulted with Vans and Ken told me that as long as I have edge distances it's OK.
Did some investigating about HVLP painting. Made arrangements to discuss with Walter Boney, an experienced auto painter. Plan to meet with him next Monday. It turns out hte guns I have are conventional, which delivers a lot of overspray. May need to buy an HLVP gun.
