Pull up altimeter calibration: Air temp 82F. 1. set panel altimeter to 29.92. Altitude reads 580 feet. This is within 80 feet of the encoding altimeter right out of the box. Not bad. 2. connect pressure/pitot static lines from encoding alt to primary alt STOP: need nylon hose barbs. Get them ordered. GPS altimeter on iPad reports between 670 and 742. Vertical speed bad Horizontal position 2 meters. Found later: GPS antenna was on the front tray, upside down. Turn it right-side up. Vertical speed goes to zero on the GPS. Good. Position stays at 2 meters. Good. Altitude settles down between 696 and 706. Good. iPad: ForeFlight: Stratus reports no towers visible. No surprise.
