The first thing that I did was to prepare the fibreglass fairing to fit reasonaly closely to the Rudder tip. It is important to take this step at this time in my view because the radius of the bends for the skin covering the counterbalance needs to match those of the fairing. The fairing flange needs to be cut down to about a 1/2 inch to allow it to fit into the rudder and a piece needs to be taken out of the Trailing edge to allow for the TE wedge. I was not trying to finish the fairing so didnt cut down to a complete fit. However, It does now fit at the front of the counterbalance rib correctly.
I did the inital bend of the skins around the counterbalance as per the instructions.
