Brief Description: Constructed Sample Static Wick Attachment Point
I am adding Static Wicks to the Rudder, Elevators, Wing tips and Ailerons and will be using the Dayton Granger 16165 Static Wick which is a very solid item. Today I tested the nutplate attachment that I will be using just to have a practice run at it. On the other side of it, I write loads of information about how I actually drilled it etc, just so I can grab it later on and read what I did rather than having to hunt through books.
The approach is very similar to that used by Mouser at Mouser.org.
I am using the following items: - MS21078-3 Two Lug Anchor Nut with a nylon insert - MS2180-3 (22NA17A) One Lug Anchor with a nylon insert - AN526 Machine screws - AN426AD3-4 rivets (at least for the rudders
Setting the rivets nearest to the Screw on the one lug anchor was awkward. I ended up doing it using the back rivet plate and a hammer and nail punchas I know I will not be able to reach some of them with the squeezer on the rudder.
