I spent a good deal of time working out how to add the Static Bond Strap to the Rudder spar. I wanted to ensure that it was close enough to the upper hinge that I wouldnt have to open up the fairing in order to access it. I was concerned that I would have edge distance problems if I tried to add it between the doubler and the next stiffener.
As a result, I eventually went with opening up one of the rivet holes in the doubler and adding the 3/32 rivets. I have replaced the doubler with a slightly thicker one and increased the edge distance all round. Effectively I have substituted 2 3/32 rivets and a #8 screw for the 1/8th rivet..
