Completed the laborious process of deburring both of the Rudder skins. I firstly removed the rivet lines from the plastic cover. The debur is a very timeconsuming task. I found the fastest approach was to use a V deburring tool to initially remove any burr, then run a 1 inch scotchbrite round to lightly clean the edges. I then get into the inaccessible locations using emery cloth. The scotchbrite wheel ends up very gouged by the end, but it saves an awful lot of work with emery cloth. It is a question of how you balance speed vs $.
After completing the deburring , I attached both skins to have a look. I am at a standstill on the rudder now as I dont want to do any further work (final drilling the skin) until I have replaced the R-1004 parts with the correct versions.
Skins temporarily attached, with the dodgy R1004 bottom rib
