Brief Description:  Riveting VS from LE to Front Spar

I decided it was pointless putting off the riveting any longer. While I have an outstanding order with Stein Air for BNC and Co Axial cable, which I need to complete the VOR antenna lead, I figured I could execute the first 5 steps of the riveting process which are all associated with the Front spar forwards.
When I get to that point, I will be getting Ken Garland to have a look before I close up the rear spar. Tonight I got the first 4 steps done which are: Cleco everything together, remove the bottom nose rib, rivet the inspar nose rib, then the top rib forward of the front spar then replace the bottom nose rib and rivet it.

Ryan was working with me today doing the bucking. We might have a change of roles next time and see how he goes on the gun. We completed the Middle Nose Rib first. I have to say, that it is quite a difficult first team rivet challenge, The access is minimal for the front rivet. Good luck if you have large hands, and I have no idea how you would do it if you didnt have a tungsten bar. We had a couple of problems, but in general I am pretty happy with the outcome. I then went on to squeeze the top and bottom nose ribs.

Theoretically, I should have left the bottom nose rib out until Ken had a look, but that would mean that I cant get the front spar done, which would mean he was only looking at 22 rivets... Not really worth the drive to Camden. So I installed the Bottom nose rib and if I need to remove it to access the inspar nose rib, then I will drill it out.

Overall, I am very pleased with how the job went. We had a couple of interesting moments, but overall, a good start.
