Brief Description:  Completed VS skin Preparation

I attached the VS skin to the skeleton for the first time and match drilled it, then took everything apart and deburred the skin edges and all the holes.

I then went on to prepare the Rear Spar and Ribs and skin by dimpling. Frustratingly, I put a very minor ding into the skin at one of the middle nose ribs where I should have used a pop rivet dimpler (as I had done on the first side) but chose to use the C Frame. The skin was not fully flat on the male dimple die, so when it compressed, the dies kissed the skin first. It is something I will know about but I am sure no one else will see. Plan to fix it when I paint.

I then final drilled the rudder hinge breackets to size 12 in the drill press.

Learnings:
1. Dont use the C Frame for holes near the Leading Edge curvaturecurvature. This will be applicable for the HS skins as well.

2. Try and keep track of deburing and do it when they tell you to, I have found myself deburing then doing more work on a part then doing more deburing. So I go over everything again which isnt right... Need to just do the minimum then when I get to Priming, I will do a final check.

3. Use the C Frame for skins if possible rather than the squeezer. The C Frame leaves a crisper edge despite pressure on the squeezer.

4. When you remove anything, make sure that either: it can only go back in one way, or it is marked to show the orientation. I removed the rudder hinge brackets to facilitate working on the skin, without marking them and spent quite some time making sure I had them correctly oriented again.

Plans:
I intend to run cabling up to the tip of the VS to facilitate VOR connectivity and possibly a camera at some point in the future and also possible additional lighting or an HF radio antenna. To that end, I will run two conduits through the ribs and mount a connection socket on the top rib underneath the fibreglass fairing for one and the other will run straight to the VOR Antenna.

I will leave any actual camera viewport for the time being.
