Brief Description:  Retractable Compressor Hose & Back Rivet Plate

Ryan and I flew up to Narromine in VH-BAC on Friday and stayed over Saturday to see the AusFly 2012 airshow. What a great event. Run by the SAAA and AOPA. I have actually fallen in love with the Grumman Avenger. What an amazing aeroplane. The largest single engine aircaft carrier aircraft. What an amazing noise that big radial makes when it gets going. Truly superb.

More work today in the Workshop.

I mounted the retractable compressor hose reel on the wall. This was a pretty cheap one from Home Hardware. Works very well thus far. It makes it so much easier to get rid of hose clutter.

I also routed an 8mm deep hole in a piece of 900 x 600 MDF for my back riveting plate. Routers really are bad news health wise. Routers on MDF are even worse, but they do leave a good finish. I wasnt perfect around the edges as I couldnt see what I was doing half the time, but being slightly loose in 2 places does make removal of the plate a lot easier and it wont move when riveting. The plate is now 0.5mm above the surface of the MDF sheet. Exactly where I wanted it. I was nervous that having it low might result in impressions on the Al if the rivet was near the edge of the plate.
