Brief Description:  Empennage Inventory Time

The boxes are very well packed by Vans I must admit. All the Alclad sheeting is attached to the base of the box and covered with Cardboard. Above that, at one end, are all of the sub kits of parts, spars, ribs etc, that make up Empennage and the Tail cone. Each subkit is separately wrapped and labeled. Each corresponds to a separate section in the Parts list which is taped at the top of the box.

Weighing in at 136kg and being 12ft long, it is definitely the biggest christmas present that I have ever had...

After getting everything opened, I completed an inventory and it appears to all be there apart from one E-905 elevator rib. I have sent am email to Vans to let them know.

I was able to stow everything into the storage areas in my garae with the exception of 3 skins which are now in my sons bedroom. These skins are much longer than the areas that I have for storage. I would say that you need about 8ft by 4ft for them:

- The rear lower talicone skin - F1078
- The two side skins. F1073L & R

(You can see them at: http://www.myrv10.com/Plans/RV10_Plans_sec10-pg07.html)

Each of these was a bit too long and wide to be stored under my work tables.
Switching to Plan B - Under my sons bed for the time being. Lucky he is not at home very often...
