Brief Description:  Continued on the HS Nose Rivets

Ryan and I spent an hour finishing off the remaining rivets in the nose ribs. I was very pleased with the results in general. Both Ryan and I have big hands so it is very hard to buck the rivets at the leading edge. When we discovered the trick. We dropped a pen about half an inch thick into the leading edge which allowed us to sit the bucking bar on top and reduce the three dimensional problem into a two dimensional problem. Made life a lot easier and the quality increased dramatically from that moment on. I wish I had thought of that when we were doing the Vertical stabiliser...

After completing the nose ribs, I decided to have one of the ribs in the left skin inspected by Ken Garland my Tech Consultant down at Camden. I will arrange for that in the next couple of days.

I then layed the front spar onto the nose ribs in both skins and clecoed it in, then proceded to blind rivet it into place in the right skin only. As suggested, I did not rivet the inner nose rib. I will wait until I have completed everything else before I do the -4s on the inner ribs.
