Brief Description:  The Plan

The plan is to build an "Alaskan" , fun , flying machine. To be trully useable in alaska I think it has to be an amphibian. Being on floats all summer limits you, being on wheels limits you. This week, fishing from your favorite stream (means landing on the gravel bar) and next weekend at your friends cabin at the lake gives the versitility you need in alaska. Not wanting to reinvent the wheel completely, I am using what I think are very good parts and combine them into something that I hope will be an excellent machine.
The plan is to use various parts that I have collected over the years to build a 2 place tandem, pusher prop, high wing, flying boat, with sponsons instead of wing tip floats. The general lay-out similar to a seabee.
The hull I am using is an Aerocet float. The Aerocet has good hydrodynamic properties (it's fast off the water) and it's fiberglass. What can I say, I am a fiberglass guy.
The wing and tail are from a Glastar.
The tail cone/vertical stabilizer is the first big part to be built. Because I plan on building the tail cone of vacuum bagged carbon fiber, I need to build a mold. Before I buid the mold, I need a plug.
