Brief Description:  Right Elevator-Part I

Started by clecoeing root ribs to spars, match drilling root ribs to spars and deburring the holes. I did this out of order as I thought the assembly process for the right and left elevator were identical. Then, we riveted right root rib to right spar. Make sure you use flush rivets as the control horn sits over the spar/root rib joint.

Next, we clecoed the spar/root rib to the bottom of the elevator. Then, we clamped the control horn in place (verify that it is centered vertically). Once the alignment was verified, we match drilled and deburred the control horn attachment points.

After lunch, we clecoed the spar/root rib to the top and bottom right elevator skin. Then, we match drilled the holes in the spar and root rib. Make sure that the bottom holes are #30 (except for those which can be squeezed from the outside), the top holes are #40 and do not drill locations where the counterbalance skin is located! Next, cleco the counterbalalnce assembly to the elevator skin and spar. Match drill these holes as well as the tip holes (#30) as these can not be accessed later.
Then, deburr and dimple counterbalance components, root rib and spar. Additionally, deburr and dimple right elevator skin holes at counterbalance skin, root rib and tip rib.
