Prepped horizontal stabilizer parts for assembly. Includes (1) "rough up" aluminum with scotchbrite pad to ensure paint adhesion, (2) rub parts down with lacquer thinner and (3) paint parts with self-etching primer (Dupli-Color). Also, I used a hair dryer to speed cure of primer. General paint technique is to apply EVEN coats in layers (always keep the can moving!).
Once I prime the inside skin rivet lines, I will be ready for final assembly.
In addition to the above, I un-dimpled the horizontal stabilizer holes which are drilled, at a later date, for nut plates.
