Spent the past couple of days figuring out the internal generator and external alternator wiring. TAF did my wiring looms quite some time ago and I thought I had it all sorted out, however. When I looked at wiring the external alternator, the wiring diagram from TAF did not make much sense to me. I had previously asked TAF how I should wire the alternator and it also made no sense to me. I had an external alternator relay but no field wire to the alternator, ( IG connection ) so the alternator could not be energised. After a lot of help from BDH and a lot of head scratching, we decided that the best solution was to remove the external alternator relay. I connected the B+ wire from alternator to the C/B, removing the relay from the circuit and used the V-PX J12-12 wire ( now BU-Alt-Field ) to the IG connection on the Alternator ( which is also the warning light connection ). I tested the internal generator wiring plug on the voltage regulator, the GGRB+LC connections all tested correctly. Connected the battery and the warning charge lights illuminate as required when respective alternator selected, thank heavens.
