Spent time today trying to fix the pitot and static tubing problem. After noticing the grommets had failed, the only way I could fix the pitot and static tubing was to remove them and start again. From the wing root there are five ribs under the step, which I can not access the middle three to install grommets. I decided to install two aluminium tubes, ( covered in black heat shrink ) with grommets at each end, that will allow me to thead the pitot/static tubing through. I think it is a good fix, I will check with BDH for his advise later in the week.
