Brief Description:  Filling rivets.

I have spent some time figuring out what is the best way to fill rivet heads.
I tried using " Muti Surface Fine Filler " but it takes far too long and does not get all the way into the rivet head.
I have taken the advice from some Sling builders here in Australia and tried fiberglass resin.
I made a test strip of 3.2 mm and 4 mm rivets.
I mixed the resin with talcum powder and hardener to form a paste and then used a skewer to apply to the rivet head.
After the fiberglass hardened I lightly sanded the excess fiberglass to a flush finish.
This seems to work very well, I managed to fill about thirty rivet heads in about two minutes.
Talking to other builders they have said that they have filled all rivet heads on an aileron in about ten minutes.
Errol, the Australian Sling agent, filled top of wing in about one and a half hours.
I have been busy with family and work issues, so have not spent much time on build lately.
I am about to get extremely busy at work so I may not be able to post many blogs in the next month or so.
