Brief Description: Built vacuum system and fiberglass cut table
Constructed a vacuum bagging system. Vacuum bagging is not necessary on this airplane but makes for great fabrication of flat stock and custom parts. The pump was purchased on Ebay for $50, and the the gauge and pressure switch was purchased from a fiberglass supplier. PVC pipe, and pumbing fittings from Home Depot and Harbor Freight makes the rest of the system. The storage resevoir and pressure switch allow the pump to come on only when the pressure drops below 18" of vacuum. I have 4 air hose ports in case I need to do multiple parts. The fiberglass cutting station is covered with HDPE plastic, which is great cutting surface. I also fabricated a 45 degree triangle and straight edge to simplify the cutting process.
